Are you one of those that think saving money money is not possible in this recession? Unless you lost your job, I’d have to say that you are wrong. Don’t believe me? Here are a few simple and effective ways to crave a few dollars into your savings accounts.

Without knowing how much you spend each month, it’s obviously hard to cut your expenses. Once you start logging and looking at them on a regular schedule, you will be able to cut out some unnecessary fat.

Budgets are very powerful as long as you start establishing one. I know, it’s cumbersome to setup but once you have it going, it’s actually not too hard to keep it up. Since it’s so easy to save more money once you know where your money is going, this is a must.

Consolidating your debt not only saves you money but makes it easier to manage your payment. And for some reason, not many people think of this as a way to save money. Most people think moving debt around is a sin of some type but this thinking is wrong.

Want to save money on gas? Just drive less! Most of the time, our routes are so inefficient that we make General Motors proud. Before you turn on the engine, think of where you want to go today and plan a better route.

Clipping coupons used to be a mom only hobby but it’s becoming a national trend. Whether it’s online retailers, grocery stores or Best Buy, you can find coupons to save more money.

I live in an one bedroom apartment and love it. How big is your house? Do you actually use all that space? If not, you may be surprised at how much money you are throwing away each month as you pay for extra property taxes, mortgages and utilities.

Have you looked at all the services that you are paying for each month? Chances are good that you can cut out some, if not many of them. Take a hard look. Can you do without a high priced cell phone plan? What about a gym membership?

Let your creativity shine by thinking of how to do everything for free. Whether it’s software or activities, there’s probably a free version out there. Imagine a world where everything is free. How can you not save money?
